(E-)Mountainbike Tours
in Samnaun and the surrounding area
For pleasure-seekers: by E-Bike to the Kobler Alpe
The tour can be started directly in Samnaun Dorf. At the beginning you roll comfortably along the road to Samnaun-Compatsch. Continue along the culture trail into the Zander Valley. After crossing the Malfragbach and thus the national border, the trail continues upwards over the Zanderswiesen meadows to the Fliesseralpe. There you can already take a first rest. The trail then heads back out of the valley along the Zandersbach, past a beautiful playground with a fireplace and in the direction of Spiss. Then follow the Spisser Strasse L348 to the Gstalda junction, where you turn left. Here you first follow the asphalt road to Gstalda, then the forest path continues to Kobler Alpe. Return the same way - or stay on the main road at Spiss and follow it via Spissermühle (customs) to Samnaun Dorf.
For fighters: Iron Bike Ischgl (Samnaun - Ischgl - Samnaun section)
The Ironbike Marathon Ischgl is one of the toughest bike races in Europe! The original route starts in Ischgl and includes an additional loop into the Larein Valley in Paznaun, but the tour can also be completed from Samnaun.
The loop starts in Samnaun Dorf in the direction of Laret. There follows an ascent of over 1000 metres in altitude to the Viderjoch. This is followed by a short descent over the first part of the Flimjoch trail. Soon, however, the trail turns right and a short, crisp climb to the Velilltrail follows. The subsequent descent leads down to Ischgl. In the village, you ride along the road or the tunnel to the centre of the village. The long ascent begins at the church, past the Idalp, via Höllkar to the Salaaser Kopf. The tour's crowning glory is the descent via the Zeblaswiesen meadows back to Samnaun Dorf.
For racers: depth meter collection made easy
The lifts and the trails in the Silvretta Arena Samnaun/Ischgl invite experienced bikers to plan a "mountain railway tour". With the support of the mountain railways and your own muscle power, you go up, then back down again on high alpine, flowing and also challenging trails. Up and down until your legs burn and you can no longer feel your hands.

For explorers: over the famous Fimber Pass to Scuol
Stony, alpine and with a brilliant view over the mountain world characterise this day tour. Pure, alpine trails!
The tour starts at the valley station of the mountain railway in Samnaun, as this takes the adventurers comfortably up to the Viderjoch. There follows a short but steep ascent to the Greitspitz, where the bikers are rewarded with a magnificent 360° panorama. Then take the (partly exposed) Schmuggler Trail to the Salaaser Kopf and continue flowing to the Zeblasjoch. Here begins a passage over the scree of the mountain flank of the "Piz Rots" and a longer carrying passage to the Fuorcla Val Gronda. At the top, you are right on the border between Switzerland and Austria. The efforts are rewarded with a rapid descent, a fantastic view and alpine nature. Partially blocked, the trail descends towards the Heidelberger Hut, but before you reach the hut, the trail turns left towards the Fimber Pass. With a last stretcher passage shortly before the pass summit, you earn the approximately 6-kilometre descent to Griosch. The 800-metre difference in altitude becomes noticeable - what is still rocky and alpine at the top slowly but surely becomes a green mountain idyll again. The last single-trail sections of the day lead via Hof Zuort and Val Sinestra to Sent/Scuol. At the train station, board the next post bus in the direction of Samnaun and on the return journey, look back on the day with its many alpine trails.
For the spontaneous: valley trail around Samnaun
The valley trail is suitable as an evening round tour to explore the valley by bike or for those who want to get a taste of trail air.
From Samnaun Dorf you pass duty-free shops until you reach the Märchenweg (fairytale path), which leads along the edge of the forest. After the Märchenweg follows a slightly ascending trail to the water reservoir. Continue to the Vitaparcours at Inner Wald until you reach the Kalvarienberg farms. Now the trail descends to the Schergenbach and immediately ascends again to Clis Grond. The trail from Clis Grond down to Compatsch junction is demanding - as an alternative you can also cycle along the stream via Lagerstrasse to Compatsch junction. From Samnaun-Compatsch the trail leads to Laret and on to the two stables, where the climb towards Chè d'Mot (hill with the cable car masts) begins. Then the bike takes you along a flowing trail to Ravaisch - but beware, the first two bends are quite narrow and challenging. From Ravaisch a forest trail leads back to Samnaun Dorf.
"More fun on the bike" - under this motto you will find bike experiences tailored to your needs at our in-house bike school. The offer includes guided bike and e-bike tours, riding technique courses and camps.
The bike infrastructure of the Silvretta Arena Samnaun-Ischgl is constantly being improved. There are now over 80 km of trails open to you, from easier flow trails to challenging day tours.
