Our engagement
Energy-efficient, regional and environmentally friendly
At Chasa Montana, we attach great importance to sustainability and social commitment. Our approach combines energy efficiency, regionality and a responsible human resources policy in order to protect the environment and promote the well-being of our guests and employees.
Energy efficiency
By using state-of-the-art technology as part of the remodelling, we have managed to reduce our heating oil consumption by a fifth. A heat recovery system for hot water and filter backwashing of the indoor pool and whirlpools contribute to this, as does the use of waste heat from our pizza oven and ventilation system. Since December 2022, our guests in the rooms and suites have been enjoying certified organic coffee from Graubünden, whose compostable capsules also contribute to the sustainable concept.
Regionality and first-class products
Regionality is at the centre of our gastronomic offering at Chasa Montana. We source the majority of our products from local suppliers in Switzerland, Austria and Italy. For example, the Samnaun mountain cheese comes directly from the alpine dairy, while meat products come from regional farmers such as Christian Prinz and the Nogglerhof. We are particularly proud of our ‘nose to tail’ principle, in which the entire animal is processed to avoid waste.
Cross-border regionality
Thanks to our unique location in the border triangle, we also source high-quality products from neighbouring Vorarlberg and South Tyrol. This results in dishes that are refined with regional ingredients and pamper the palate with a symbiosis of traditional and modern flavours. Our 17 points Chef Bernd Fabian and his team ensure that the culinary journey at Chasa Montana is always exciting and innovative.
Social commitment
For us, sustainability is not only reflected in the environment, but also in the way we treat our employees. Despite a temporary closure during the remodelling, we were able to keep many employees on in other ZEGG Hotels & Stores businesses. This means that the familiar team that has helped to shape the success of the hotel for many years remains in place.
Swisstainable - Our commitment to sustainable tourism
As part of the Swisstainable programme, we are committed to continuous, sustainable development and make a concrete contribution to sustainable Swiss tourism. Our commitment is categorised as Level I - committed - and we strive to always act responsibly and in a future-oriented manner.
At Relais & Châteaux Chasa Montana we combine comfort, enjoyment and sustainability - for a unique holiday experience in harmony with nature.
